Windows Updates – Loss of internet
Windows 10 Logo
Once again, a Windows 10 update has caused major issues.
A recent update to Windows 10 causes your computer to lose connectivity with the internet, for both wired and wireless connections. The symptoms are the connectivity icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, showing connected to the router but showing as NO INTERNET. The update in question only affects Windows 10 and is known as KB3201845. It was released on December 9th, 2016.
Microsoft have now withdrawn the update and issued a new update, KB3206632 which seems to have resolved the issue.
However, if you are not able to do online to download the fix, follow the below procedure.
Type Run into the search bar in the bottom left of your screen, then click on RUN (Desktop App)
Type cmd into the new search box and then click enter. A black DOS box will now appear.
Into the DOS box, type “ipconfig /release” without the quotation marks. Ensure you leave a space after the “g”
Now type “ipconfig /renew” without the quotation marks. Hit enter.
Close the DOS box and you should find you are back on the internet. If you are not, then reboot your pc.

The above procedure should get you back on the internet which will then trigger your computer to check for updates. The revised fix will then be downloaded.
